Abstract
Concerns of future fuel crisis and increasing greenhouse gases causes study on clean energy production. In this study production hydrogen as a source of clean energy source from anaerobic digestion which does not require any external fuel is explained. Siegrist model with continuous stirred tank reactor at different HRTs, different flow rates and changing pH is used for modeling and simulation of experiments, which are performed using sucrose and glucose 6% each as substrates. For sucrose solution maximum hydrogen production is.. while for glucose solution hydrogen production is.. Modelling of the process is done in SIMBA# software with inbuilt models. Single stage and two stage process of bio methane production along with Biohydrogen is modeled in SIMBA# using Siegrist model. Hydrogen production is more enhanced in two stage model. Also the optimum conditions of three independent variables viz. COD, pH, and volume are calculated using RSM with Central Composite Design. Hydrogen and methane production was found to be optimum at 40000 mg/l COD with volume of 2000m3 at pH 5.
