The current method of harvesting onions in India involves farmers sitting on the ground and plucking the onion withholding the stem of the crop. We have developed a prototype of manually operated onion harvester which will increase the efficiency of the harvesting and reduce the manual labor. To visualize our idea for mechanism, we made an interactive geometry model in Cinderella software. For validating our results, we did static force analysis and ground penetration testing. The mechanism can be potentially automated which will increase the efficiency even further.falseAutomation | Claw | Manual labor | Onion harvesting | Slider crankDesign and Development of an Efficient Onion Harvester for Indian FarmsConference Paper21954364541-54820191cpBook Series1
