Abstract
We measure the effective activation energy of methane oxidation catalyzed by La<inf>2</inf>O<inf>3</inf> doped with Cu, Zn, Mg, Fe, Nb, Ti, Zr, or Ta. We find that the measured activation energy is a linear function of the calculated energy of oxygen-vacancy formation.
