Abstract
Image sensors are one of the indispensable components in modern day life , with its applications varying from biomedical applications like retinal prosthesis , to automotive applications , to outer space high quality imaging. In this work the 32x32 image sensor array and its readout circuitry is designed in SCL 180nm technology library. The range of operating photocurrents and intensity was studied , and a first order photodiode model was used. The image sensor array of 32x32 was designed and implemented using the 3T-Pixel architecture. The readout was done using a column series architecture and a global charge amplifier to obtain an analog output. The outputs obtained were compared with the ideal outputs. The results show consistency with the expected behaviour. The total power dissipation of the circuit was 176_W.
