Abstract
This last chapter will discuss all the other chapters that have been presented in this volume and highlight some of the key themes that emerged from each of the contributed chapters. In the process, this chapter will also throw light on some of the major eldercare policies that have been adopted in China and India. Finally, this chapter will reflect on some of the future research agendas that need to be examined to broaden the scope of gerontology as a discipline. The main aim of this chapter is to illustrate the need for more such comparative studies and also to explain the significance of such studies for a cross-cultural understanding of gerontology as an area of research.
